Recognise the signs, start the conversation and build a mentally healthier worksite.

Estimated time1 Hour
FormatOnline, self-paced
On completionCPD certificate

Course Overview

This online, self-paced awareness course is for workers and supervisors in construction. It is a supportive introduction to mental wellbeing, not clinical or counselling training. The course looks at the mental health challenges common in construction, such as long hours, job insecurity and a stoic culture, and explains how programs like MATES in Construction help. You will learn to understand your own mental health, build mindfulness and manage stress, recognise signs of distress in yourself and your workmates, hold a supportive conversation, and reduce stigma. It also shows how to connect someone to help, including a manager, an EAP, Lifeline or MATES in Construction. The single module takes about one hour and finishes with a knowledge assessment and a certificate of completion, and it counts toward CPD.
