Course Overview

Lithium Battery Safety is an online, self-paced awareness course on working safely with the lithium-ion batteries that power cordless tools, test equipment, e-mobility devices and solar and home energy-storage systems. It is designed for workers across the electrical, communications and construction industries. You will learn how to charge, store and transport these batteries safely, and how to recognise the warning signs of a failing battery, including swelling, heat, odour and leaking. The course explains how thermal runaway can release intense fire and toxic gas, how to respond to a damaged battery or a lithium-battery fire, safe disposal, and workplace controls that reduce fire risk on site and in vehicles. The single module finishes with a knowledge assessment and a certificate of completion, takes about one hour, and counts toward CPD.
