Plan and apply fall-prevention controls before work at height begins.

Estimated time1 Hour

Course Overview

Fall Prevention Systems is an online, self-paced awareness and refresher course on preventing falls when working at heights. Fall prevention means stopping a fall before it happens, using guardrails, edge protection, covers, work platforms and travel-restraint systems, rather than arresting a fall after it starts. The course explains the hierarchy of fall control (where prevention sits above fall arrest in the Safe Work Australia approach), passive and active prevention systems, guardrail and edge-protection requirements, travel-restraint versus fall-arrest, and how to choose the right control for the task. It is written for electricians, trades and supervisors who plan or perform work at heights. The single module takes about one hour and finishes with a knowledge assessment, after which you receive a certificate of completion that counts toward CPD.

Related working at heights training: When a fall cannot be prevented, Fall Arrest Systems covers the PPE that stops a fall safely; for ladder work see Ladder Safety. See all our Working at Heights Training.
