Course Overview

Ladder Safety is an online, self-paced awareness and refresher course for any worker who uses portable ladders on site. Ladders cause a large share of falls from height, often during short, routine tasks. You will learn how to choose the right ladder (single, extension, step or platform) for the load, set it up safely using the 4-to-1 rule, secure footing, top support and three points of contact, inspect a ladder before use so damaged ones are removed from service, and recognise when a platform or scaffold is the safer tool. It also covers using a non-conductive fibreglass ladder near live electrical parts. The single module takes about one hour and finishes with a knowledge assessment and certificate of completion that counts toward CPD.
